		Who's John ?
		He's handsome, he's handy, he's humorous, he's my best friend (39 years!), and he goes on the trips. We chicks can manage quite well on our own, thank you, but when the villa power flickered and plumbing gurgled on our first night in May, it was nice to have a man around the house. (There was a minor electrical short and it was totally fixed the next day). Plus, he knows which old woman in the village sells the best local wine... John Speaks... Wow! My own webpage!! Some of my friends have suggested that being the only man in a group of eleven women for a week is not their idea of the ideal vacation. One has said more directly, "You're going to do WHAT?" So, how do I handle spending a week with a thousand women? Very carefully, quietly and unobtrusively. Seriously, I do perform some background functions. Not the least of which is acquiring the great local wine and making sure that it doesn't run out. (Someday I might tell you where and how I get it - a story in itself!) For Gail and me to stay in the little separate guest house that is not even visible from the main house, is really a plus for me...but more importantly for our friends who can use the whole house to lounge around in, early or late...women only. But I haven't addressed the initial question. The trick for me is to help things go smoothly without appearing to be doing much - or appearing much. Having already done the touristy trips we are happy just being in this beautiful place, and we like helping friends have a great time.
